Frequently Asked Questions

As mental health professionals, we value honesty and transparency to make sure our clients feel comfortable and safe trusting us with their wellbeing. Here are some common concerns that we have gathered to ease your worries about us.

Training and Qualifications

  1. What are your credentials for providing therapy?

All our therapists at Minda are registered clinical psychologists under Malaysia's Allied Health Act. Kindly view Our Therapists to find more information about our education, licensing, and official memberships.

  1. How long have you been providing therapy?

Amanda graduated in late 2020, while Diana graduated in early 2021. Prior to completing their masters' program, both therapists fulfilled 1500 training hours as part of their training. If you'd like to know more about their working experience, kindly let us know by contacting us here, or reaching us at hello@mindapsychology.com

  1. How much experience do you have in treating my issues and concerns?

Both our therapists have a wide range of issues and concerns that they are more experienced and comfortable supporting you with. You may find more information at Our Therapists, but if you are unsure, please reach out to us through the website here, or reach us at hello@mindapsychology.com

Practical Matters

  1. What are the fees for therapy? What about cancellation fees?

As we said, we value transparency, so we have provided our fee structure for you in the Individual Psychotherapy page. Our attendance and cancellation policy states that any last-minute cancellation within 48 hours before the therapy session or no-shows (not showing up for the session), will be charged the full session amount. This is because our therapists have booked their time for your session, and cancelling last-minute would mean our therapists are left with an empty slot that can't be filled. We respect our clients' time as well, therefore if your therapist cancels within 48 hours before the session, you can receive a full refund.

  2. What about the initial payment for the session? How do I pay?

As per our payment policy, we strive to respond to you as soon as possible after you book a slot. We require the full payment for the session within 48 hours of booking an appointment with us, so keep an eye out for our email! At the moment we use bank transfers, but we are working on increasing our payment options for you. Please let us know if you might be using another payment option, and we will try our best to assist you.

  1. Do you provide after-hours crisis response?

Unfortunately, our therapists are not at capacity to respond to crisis situations after-hours, and Minda is not a crisis centre. However, we understand that sometimes crises occurs when least expected. We will provide you with resources for a crisis, such as numbers to call, coping skills, and more. Please inform us of your potential risk of crisis when you register with us here.
