Note about the decriminalisation of suicidal attempts (Section 309 of the Penal Code): We are happy to update that the bill to decriminalise suicidal attempts was passed in 2023, and there would no longer be legal actions taken against one who attempts suicide. However, aiding and abetting suicide is still a criminal offence in Malaysia.
